BOUNCE

Ripchord

Kim Blackwell - Tenor, Julie Cameron - Bass, Klysta Foster- Lead, Margaret Matthews - Baritone

Bounce is a registered barbershop quartet with Sweet Adelines International. Bounce started as three busy moms that just wanted to have fun singing with friends. We just needed one more voice to make our trio a quartet. We found the perfect match in a sweet college girl from Weber State University. Between us we have 3 men (still looking for number 4), 11 children, 5 dogs and a boatload of homework! Adding singing to this mix keeps us crazy but we do what any other chord ringing addicts would do... nocturnal singing rehearsals! We love the barbershop style of four part a cappella harmony because it lends itself to songs of any era - today's ballads, popular show tunes, jazz and even holiday music.

We are so happy and honored to be the 2010 Second Place Medalists for Region 8! We have had such a great time putting all this together. Our motto has been "Chase the dream, not the competition" and now we really get to live the dream!

LUCKY PENNY

Ripchord

Brooke Zaugg - Tenor, Kate Bedore - Bass, Penny Peshell - Lead, Amy Workman- Baritone

Lucky Penny is as new to barbershop singing as the members are excited about it! Novice as novice can be, this quartet had only been together for five months when they went to their first regional competition in April of 2010. Not one of them had ever sung in a quartet before, and the longest any of the members had been involved in barbershop music was two years. The shortest time period for one was the five months begining when the quartet first got together! In hindsight, the first few rehearsals were actually quite funny. While doing warm-ups, everyone would ask one another, "Does anyone know the baritone part?"

Lucky Penny has since learned the baritone part of the warm-ups (or, at least the baritone has!) and all of the parts to a handful of other wonderful songs. They walked away from 2010's competition pleased with their effort, and hungry to sing even MORE!

These girls are filled with a lot of love, for their ever supportive family and friends, for singing, for barbershop music, for Sweet Adelines International, for Mountain Jubilee Chorus, for each other, and, well for LIFE! What a tremendous opportunity to live, laugh, and love in the name of this amazing organization! The members of Lucky Penny considerthemselves very LUCKY indeed.

WINE

Wine

Annette Wallace- Tenor, Julie Winans- Lead, Lhea Wilson- Bass, Stacie Traux- Baritone

A FAMOUS MAN ONCE SAID "WHAT'S IN A NAME? WELL THE NAME OF THE QUARTET "wine" means more than four talented ladies who enjoy the nectar of crushed grapes. The name WINE is a result of where these four singers lived when the quartet was conveived just over a year a go. The Lead - Julie lived in Wisconsin, the Base - Stacie along with the Tenor Annett, lived in Nebraska and the Baritone Lhea lived in Iowa. The name Wine comes from the abbreviation of the states.

Although Julie moved to Salt Lake City the quartet still competed in their regional competition and came away with Third Place Medals! WINE loves to perform and is looking forward to singing for you.
